Anybody can breath, therefore anyone can practice yoga.

Yoga Classes
Here at ZenYoga & Fitness in Somerset, we believe yoga is not just an exercise for the body, it is so much more.
My training as a yoga teacher has taught me that yoga’s benefits are not just, holistic, and spiritual, but has proven scientific benefits as well.
Yes, it relaxes and strengthens the body, improving flexibility, balance, and mobility. Yoga also improves lymphatic drainage, Venus return (blood flow), it works into the Vagus nerve, increases bone density and muscle mass.
Through my yoga teaching journey, I have learnt that the body holds life’s traumas like grief and loss to mention a few.
‘What is in your head the body holds.’ This is called somatic.
The connection between mind and body is something we lose as we age. How often do you feel aches and pains, but just do not listen to what your body is trying to tell you. Life gets in the way, until your mind and body say enough is enough.
Yoga teaches you to find that mind body connection again. Helping you to listen and understand your body and mind, giving time to heal and repair, using Asanas (movement), Meditation/relaxation, Pranayama (breath work).
Yoga gives back to the mind and body, what everyday life and stresses take away.
Your body and mind will do everything it can to protect and keep you safe and healthy. Can you honestly say that you do the same for your mind and body.
Yoga brings you into the present and allows you to really breathe, move and grow.
Make time for yourself, take an hour out of your day, and join me in a yoga class either online or face to face, where you can rebalance, reconnect, and find yourself.

Children's Yoga Ages 5-11 For Schools

Why do children need yoga?
I trained as a children’s yoga teacher, as I have two young children myself. Yoga gives children the tools they need to calm the mind and learn to bring awareness to the breath, whilst having fun just being children, which is so important in these strange times. Incorporating sounds with the postures children can allow their imagination to fly.
During a class children learn to rely on and support each other through different asanas. At the end of each class, children find a comfortable position for mediation, where they can just take that time to be still (only if they want) and relax.
I teach in schools as a group or one to one at an hourly rate of £50. Please contact me for details.
Teen Yoga Ages 13-17 For Schools

Teen Yoga allows me to give young adults the tools they need to help them through one of the most stressful times of their lives.
Life can be hard for anyone but teenagers have the added pressures of social media, schools, friendship and home life. Now add in hormones, the brain rewiring and the need to become part of something.
Teenagers need all the help they can get and this is where Teen Yoga can play a huge part, by helping them to understand their emotions, calm the mind, feel seen and validated.
Using postures, breath work and meditation, teens can reconnect, relax and come out of the class feeling empowered.
As a mum of four I feel really passionate about our youth and that's why I work with schools as a group or one to one at an hourly rate of £50. Please contact me for details.
Yoga for Cancer

6 week online programme
The words that nobody wants to hear ‘You have Cancer’. Yet everyday millions of people hear those words, and their lives are turned upside down. There are so many people living with cancer today, all at their own stage in their journey.
My yoga for cancer took me on two different journeys. My first training took me on the holistic side of yoga for cancer, encouraging gentle movement and restorative yoga. After much research I learnt that yoga helps the body recover faster and reduces the risk of reoccurrence. This led me to learn Oncology yoga, through the amazing Tari Prinster of Y4C in America.
Having a yoga for cancer practice alongside your medical treatments, allows you time to listen, feel, understand, and relax. Knowing that the body needs to stay active, and strong, as well as time to restore, Oncology and holistic yoga for cancer are an amazing blend, assisting the immune system and blood flow which reduce the side effects of the cancer and treatments.
Using Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breath work) Meditation/relaxation, I will guide you through an hour-long practice.
My 6-week online yoga for cancer course, runs once a week for 1 and a half hours, where you can talk openly about your journey with other cancer sufferers, ask questions and gain advise. I want to create a community where you are no longer isolated and feel out of control. This course gives you the tools to reconnect with your body and feel empowered.
‘Cancer constricts the body and mind, YOGA releases it’.

How can yoga and fitness help with my Menopause?
The menopause can be such a confusing time, when it feels like your body is against you and you have lost your mind. The reduction of oestrogen, and the increase of cortisol, means that what fitness and diets used to do actually DON’T work anymore.

Through meditation you will learn to relax, by calming the mind and body, while the yoga movements will help you to build muscle and bone density and regain flexibility.

Senior Yoga

6 week program
How can Seniors Yoga help me?
I have a lot of older people say to me "I would love to do yoga but..."
My answer to them is ‘if you can breathe you can relax into yoga'
Age may take way your flexibility, mobility, strength, and balance, but yoga can give it back.
My senior's yoga classes are a mix of chair, standing and mat based postures, which cater for all abilities.
The aim of the class is to increase mobility and strength, allowing you to continue your everyday life with more confidence and comfort.
As we age our bone density reduces, as does our muscle mass, along with range of movement.
Yoga for seniors can help improve these effects.
Senior's classes are more than just yoga, they are a time to connect.
This 6-week program runs once a week for 1 hour.
